If your out there looking for work in your field and still have not found a job it’s time to reach out for help. Those in your network will be willing to help if you just ask. Send them a personalized friendly note letting them know you are looking for a job.  Research and find contact information to key persons at companies you would like to work for. LinkedIn is a great place to start.

A few key points for sending out your request:

  1. Review your letter for grammar and content before sending
  2. List your current or last position
  3. Identify the position you are seeking
  4. Include a call to Action-Ask for the type of help you need.
  5. Attach your resume
  6. Say thank you to anyone that responds

I am reaching out because I am positioned to accept a new mid-career Human Resources position. I have worked at my current position as a Director of Human Resources for three years and have recently decided to look for a new position that offers additional career growth.
