You Must Network to Find Your Next Job

Network to Find Your Next Job

Network-Get Busy Getting Busy

If your out there looking for work in your field and still have not found a job it’s time to reach out for help. Those in your network will be willing to help if you just ask. Send them a personalized friendly note letting them know you are looking for a job.  Research and find contact information to key persons at companies you would like to work for. LinkedIn is a great place to start.

A few key points for sending out your request:

  1. Review your letter for grammar and content before sending
  2. List your current or last position
  3. Identify the position you are seeking
  4. Include a call to Action-Ask for the type of help you need.
  5. Attach your resume
  6. Say thank you to anyone that responds

If I was writing an introduction letter asking for assistance in finding a job it would look like this…

Example

Hi Mr./Ms. Person

Hope all is well!

I am reaching out because I am positioned to accept a new mid-career Human Resources position. I have worked at my current position as a Director of Human Resources for three years and have recently decided to look for a new position that offers additional career growth.

If you know of any open positions at the Apex Company or have leads you are able to share with me, please let me know. I have attached my resume for your review. Please feel free to distribute it throughout your network.

Also, if you feel my resume can be improved in any way, I would welcome thefeedback.

Thanks in advance for reading my note and for your help! I look forward to hearing from you. I can be reached at 215-000-0000 or by email at info@sharonvargas.com

 Best,
